So, you've beaten Sonic X Shadow Generations, but you don't want to stop playing. After all, it only takes a measly six hours to reach the end credits, and that includes all the new content. What can you do to get more bang for your buck?

Thankfully, you don't have to turn off the game just yet. While the main story only lasts a few hours, completionists have plenty of post-game content to enjoy. Whether you want to climb the online leaderboards or tackle harder variations of the bosses, these are the best things to do after you beat the game.

8 Get The S-Ranks

Gotta Go Fast

After clearing a level, you're given a score based on how well you played, with the highest being the almighty S-Rank. As Sonic, you must reach the goal as fast as possible without dying, with bonus points based on your ring count. Shadow's conditions are almost the same, except you're allowed to lose a life.

Getting an S-Rank can be pretty tricky, so here are some tips to help you out:

• The hard-to-reach paths are often the shortest. Don't be afraid to take risks and try the trickier routes!
• Experiment with Sonic's skills. Some increase your speed, while others extend your Boost Gauge. Play with it and see which ones work best for you.
• Use Chaos Control wisely. You might be able to find some shortcuts when you slow down time.

7 Play As Super Sonic

On Shadow's side, you can turn on Doom Wings before entering each level, allowing you to fly after collecting 50 rings. It's kind of like a super transformation minus the invincibility. Still, it's a blast to find new shortcuts and bypass those pesky obstacles.

6 Collect The Rocket Parts

Help Orbot And Cubot Escape

Throughout Shadow Generations, you may have noticed the nuts and bolts scattered across the White Space. Those are rocket parts, which you can bring to Orbot and Cubot to help them return home. There are 80 in total, and they can be pretty tough to find.

Your best bet is to search every nook and cranny in the overworld, including on the tops of buildings and inside crevasses. The more you collect, the more art you unlock. The end payoff is pretty funny, too.

5 Complete The Challenge Acts

There Are A Lot More Than You Might Think

If you've beaten the game, you'll remember the mini challenge acts required to unlock each boss. In Sonic's story, there's a total of 90 challenges split evenly between the two hedgehogs. However, you only need to complete nine to reach the credits, meaning you still have a whopping 81 levels to play!

Granted, some are better than others. While the race against Tails is a clever nod to Sonic Adventure, other challenges, like the rhythm minigame with Vector, can get a tad frustrating. Nonetheless, it's more content to enjoy, and you even get artwork and music after beating each one.

4 Get The High Score In Casino Night

Did you know Casino Night Zone is in the game? Well, kind of. Right above Sky Sanctuary, there's a pinball minigame based on the famous Sonic 2 level, though it plays more like Casinopolis from Sonic Adventure.

The goal is to roll either Classic or Modern Sonic around the board, collect medals, and rack up as many points as possible. You may even find a secret slot machine once you get really good. Each hedgehog has a unique ability, so play as both and try to beat your high score!

3 Play Online Mode

Want to prove that you're the fastest thing alive? Why not compare your runtimes to other players from across the globe? On the title screen for each game, there's an option to play Online Mode, where you can speedrun your favorite levels and try to climb the leaderboards.

Needless to say, it's much easier said than done. Remember that practice makes perfect. Take some time to explore the stages, discover hidden shortcuts, and master the trickier sections. You'll be zooming up the ranks in no time!

2 Explore The Doom Zone

Looking for a challenge? You can unlock harder levels by transforming the White Space into the Doom Zone. This is done automatically once you get the Doom Wings, but it reverts back to normal after you defeat the final boss. Luckily, you can re-enter the Doom Zone by activating the eye in the center of the overworld.

Doing so unlocks harder variations of the challenge stages, overworld challenges, and boss fights, all of which put your platforming skills to the ultimate test. If the game was a breeze for you, give these stages a try.

1 Find The Star Rings, Chao, And Collection Keys

Have You Found Them All?

It wouldn't be a platformer without collectibles, and both campaigns have plenty to find. Each of Sonic's levels has five well-hidden star rings and three lost Chao. Meanwhile, Shadow's stages have three secret Collection Keys, which you can use to unlock the treasure chests in the White Space.

While Sonic games are all about going fast, it pays to go slower when hunting for collectibles. They're usually hidden in alternative paths and hard-to-reach areas, so make sure to take your time and explore each level. You'll find them after a bit of searching.
